Minister says to put a stop on new Layouts in Bangalore

Karnataka Agriculture Minister Krishna Byregowda has insisted the Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) and the Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) to put a stop in creating new layouts.

Attending a conference to promote green homes, which was organized by the Indian Green Building Council of the Confederation of Indian Industry; the Agriculture Minister said that we should look vertically in the growth of Bangalore City and creating new layouts is huge waste of land resources and even farmers are unwilling to sell their land.

The minister’s remark is a matter of prominence as the new layouts with horizontal pattern being developed by the BDA in the recent past have given rise to various glitches.

The Arkavathy Layout proposed in 2005 was begun with 2,750 acres of land allocation for BDA site applicants now is only left with 750 acres for allotters. Several legal processes from land owners and legitimate difficulties have delayed the project. Moreover, amongst 8,800 allotted for most of them registration has not yet done in their name.

The same situation prevails in the Nadaprabhu Kempe Gowda Layout, which was proposed between the outskirts of Mysore Road and Tumkur Road where Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) begun acquiring land in 2010 and over the years there has been resistance from formers in some divisions about the compensation. The authority is also alleged of swindles in land dealings.

One of the urban experts said that there have been few efforts by planning authorities for vertical growth in and around Bangalore. Some effort is taken by Karnataka Housing Board that can be seen in the Suryanagar project apartments and they are also coming up with fourth phase of the project in Jigani village of Anekal taluk over an area of 2,404 acres. He also added that a resilient thinking is required for the vertical growth of the city.

  1. Ministers of Bangalore are well done with a great strategic tactics to start the vertical growth at Jigani village of Anekal taluk . so this area is slowly growing up with Banks and IT’s sectors , at this place there is not at all having any apartments with best amenities, now professionals are facing problems in these area due to staying in rent homes that to water and electricity problem.

  2. Good Decision. Because all real estate people will be occupying the lands. Even government should take initiative when they selling lands. Otherwise all realtor's will do land kabza.

  3. Real estate minister are well suggested to the Realtor to sell to the lands to the people with the legal document of authority , otherwise builders may cheat to customers.

  4. Very useful article posted on this site which will help to the property buyers …

  5. Ministers put a stop for constructing and selling the new Layouts. Its good for the Bangalore people because builders are buying the lands from the farmers so this is the reason we are losing the food resources. Thanks for the ministry of real estate market.

  6. Whatever decision taken by the ministers of real estate market is good and that will helpful for the people to take part in the newly constructed layouts. Instead of wasting money by investing into illegal builders.

  7. Last 2 lines of this article described about TGS portal which is really good for the land buyers. After visiting to their site I came to know they are selling the lands at very low price compare to other portals.
